Final touches tonight all in preparation for classes resuming tomorrow. I am soooooo ready to TAP! I have to say, if anyone ever needs a framing contractor your man is Matt Chandler! He was GREAT! My goodness, this guy volunteered out at the Extreme Makeover project being in charge of the siding of this house and then dragged himself over to my little project to measure up for my storage shelving. Next day, sick with the food poising, recovered and came over to finish up today (Sunday) so all would be ready for classes on Monday. What a dedicated guy. You can trust the job will get done on time and with quality work. My shelves are beautiful and functional!
So...I'm ready to TAP!! How about you and your tap dance friends. See you this week at the NEW DANCE SPACE!! As of Thurs 9-15, pictures have been hung on the walls and music system almost completed. Storage area designed and will be completed on Saturday then I can put away the last of the items. Mirror hung in small dressing area, but still need to touch up paint in bathroom. Office is nearly complete as well. Trying to decided about STUFF! You know, all the mementos you collect over the years. What's really important to hang on to? If you have a solution that works for you ...Please let me know. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing everyone next week!
Buck & Patty came over to help me spread out the new flooring. Suprizingly how easy it went down and Wow, how beautiful it looks! Kristina Kymme came by to take a look and they loved it. So much so, they agreed to offer Hip Hop and maybe Kids classes too. I'm excited to develop this to benefit us all. Stay tuned for more to come. September 19th is the week to return to classes as previously scheduled for those TAP dancing Adults!! See you then! Okay...at least one layer removed. Started around 5:30 and left at 9:00 PM...but it's looking good. Problem with the neighbors phone line...Qwest was out and all looked good except for within my space which connects to neighbor so...I have an appointment tomorrow (Thurs) for Qwest to troubleshoot and repair the phone line. Do I have service? Don't know because my calls coming to the CDC number are forwarded to my cell number for now. However, I think I may be the cause or at least may have contributed. We were working on the ceiling tiles and moved around a lot of misc ( or at least we thought) wires from the ceiling. All innocently done with no mal intent. Actually just trying to clean. Kristina and or Kym should be dropping by to discuss their teaching of some classes. It would be great to be able to offer some Hip Hop or lyrical or even younger kids classes. Kristina is a great teacher, choreographer and promoter of dance. Kym is a great performer, choreographer and teacher of dance as well. I hope to coordinate a relationship that could benefit us all. More tomorrow.
I was very excited to receive the call this morning from the trucking company saying they had flooring to deliver today. Wow! Today! When? They replied "between 10:30 & 12:30". I said I was at my other job and could not leave for that long and asked if I could get a call when the driver was 20 minutes away. They said yes. Driver called at 11:45 to ask for directions. He ended up parking on Front St and pushing the pallet with his hand truck to the dance space. I had to get back to work and the flooring was all wrapped up with cardboard and clear plastic wrap so I haven't even seen it yet. Tomorrow for sure! Tomorrow I plan to shampoo the carpet before the flooring gets laid down.
With the installation of the mirrors, it's looking more like our familiar dance space. The storage area walls are textured and as of today, now painted as well. Now for the shelving. This will wait until Matt Chandler, the contractor doing the remodel, finishes up his commitment with Medford's Extreme Makeover. He will have a very busy week ahead. Rented a uhaul for Sept 11th. I will be moving stuff in and organizing the office next.
